Lindsay Lohan To Get Seriously Nude

That’s right. Lindsay Lohan is going to get nude. Why? To prove she’s a serious actress, of course.

Lindsay LohanSince playing a stripper evidently didn’t go far enough on the nudity scale to get her serious attention, she’s supposedly decided to go all the way with full-frontal nudity as a nymphomaniac waitress in order to prove to people that she’s a “mature actress.”

I think that Lindsay has confused people taking her seriously with people paying attention to her. A nude woman isn’t like to get people to take her seriously, but it definitely is going to get people to pay attention.

Tara Reid Entered Rehab

Actress Tara Reid has entered rehab, according to a report.
A publicist says Tara Reid has checked herself into rehab. Jack Ketsoyan revealed on Friday that the “American Pie” star went to the Promises Treatment Center. He did not specify what she was being treated for or when she entered the facility.

“Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center. We appreciate your respect to her and her family’s privacy at this time,” according to Tara Reid’s representative.

Tara Reid, 33, earned a reputation as a drunken partier after famously being photographed on a red carpet with her breast exposed, apparently unaware that the strap of her dress had fallen off.

Her film credits include “Van Wilder” and “The Big Lebowski.” She also hosted the short-lived, half-hour show “Taradise.”

A call for industry standards for data anonymization

As part of Microsoft's commitment to protecting consumers' privacy in the operation of Live Search, we're announcing support today for the Article 29 Working Party's guidelines for search anonymization. These guidelines call for a common industry standard for the timing and methods for anonymizing search query data.

Microsoft Chief Privacy Strategist Peter Cullen provides an overview of the importance of industry-wide standards for protecting user privacy on the Data Privacy Imperative blog:

[I]t is imperative that all search companies adopt the same standard to better protect people's privacy. We agree with the Article 29 Working Party's call for a common industry standard for search data anonymization methods and timeframes to help protect people's privacy. We've evaluated the multiple uses of search data and believe that we can, in time, move to a six month timeframe while retaining our strong method of anonymization.

However, we don't believe that Microsoft moving alone will offer the level of consumer protection desired by the Working Party. While we're certainly working to grow our market share, today Microsoft has only 2% of the search market in Europe and a small share globally. We can't do it alone — all search companies must embrace high privacy standards to provide greater protection for European consumers.

Peter also explains Microsoft's support for improving anonymization methods for data:

Our approach is based on the conviction that method is even more important than timeframe when it comes to effective anonymization of search data. We support the Working Party's call for a strong anonymization method as a key part of its opinion and in response to recent announcements from other companies. Our current policy is to delete the entirety of the IP address — not just a single octet, as others do — as well as all other cross-session identifiers (such as persistent cookie IDs).

Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin’s marriage is safe and strong, says pal

Contrary to recent reports, Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin are not heading for a splitsville, a pal has said.

After ‘The Pallbearer’ actress was spotted partying with pal Madonna and Martin was away on ‘Coldplay’ tour, it was claimed that their marriage was on the rocks.

Also, it was said that the couple would be spending Christmas together in a bid to save their marriage.

However, chef and a close friend Mario Batali, who hosted a show with Paltrow, revealed that the claims are not authentic.

“Not true. I see them all the time. I don”t think they”re having problems,” Contactmusic quoted Batali, as telling OK! magazine.

Batali also appreciated the couple’s parenting skills and said they are devoted parents and are a close-knit family.

Batali said: “If you meet their kids, their kids are cool. And their kids have the fascination with new and open-eyed experiences. They”re delightful. Which means they”re being taken care of at home by their parents. That’’s the key.

“They”re really stay-at-home parents in a way that only rock stars and Academy Award winning actors can be. They”ve got a time to choose when they work, and they don”t have to work all the time.” (ANI)

Chris Brown named Billboard’’s Top Artist of 2008

Chris Brown has added another accolade to his name – the R&B singer has been named Billboard’s top artist of 2008.

The 19-year-old hitmaker has carved a niche in the music industry since winning an award in 2006 and with hits like ‘With You’ and ‘No Air’.

“It’’s bigger than what I can ever imagine. It’’s unexpected totally, so it’’s a surprise,” Contactmusic quoted Brown, as saying.

“I”ve had a good year but I still feel like a little insecure in those parts. I”m like, ”There’’s little ol” me getting an award” - that’’s incredible,” Brown added.

After Brown, rapper Lil Wayne came in second, Brown’s alleged flame Rihanna came in third, Alicia Keys came in 4th and Taylor Swift rounded out the top five.

Billboard’s top five artist of 2008 are:
1 Chris Brown

2 Lil Wayne

3 Rihanna

4 Alicia Keys

5 Taylor Swift (ANI)

Nandana Sen a Topless Wonder

Nandana Sen is a bold lady. Her fans are in for a pleasant surprise as she has indulged in full frontal nudity (well, almost) in the movie.

Her fans are in for a pleasant surprise actually, thanks to her bold ways. The lady will reportedly be seen fully naked from her waist above in her much talked about Ketan Mehta flick ‘Rang Rasiya’.

Well, initially people thought that the Censor Board would cut the scene but now the buzz is that Nandana Sen’s assets will be witnessed by all and sundry.

Nandana has reportedly said, “I’m not surprised by the decision at all. That scene forms the very core of the film. ‘Rang Rasiya’ is itself about censorship of art. The political message as well as the emotional drama in our film revolves entirely around that particular scene, making it absolutely essential to the narrative.”

She’s added, “Everyone who has seen the film has commented to us about how the scene complements the film, so why would the censor board think any differently?”

SEX TAPE: X Factor star's stalker bombshell

By Jennifer Wiley

X FACTOR favourite Alexandra Burke's sleazebag former lover is trying to sell an explicit sex tape of their romps for £100,000.

Evil D'andre West is determined to cash in on the graphic 10-minute video- and shatter beautiful Alex's dreams of superstardom.

West, who is still obsessed with Alex's every move, met with News of the World reporters last week in his bid to hawk the material which features full sex and another sex act.

We haven't paid him a penny. But as he smugly showed off the footage to our investigators, he boasted:

'I want to make some money. . . I'm not interested in anything less than £100,000. If she becomes a big star this is easily worth that. She strips, we have sex, you can see everything.'

Chillingly the 28-year-old creep added: 'There's a possibility SHE'D want to pay me to STOP me from selling it, too.'

And he claimed he'd already been offered £20,000 by X Factor bosses not to make the tape public, but last night they emphatically denied it. The News of the World never had any intention of doing business with West. But we played along to expose the rat-and have tipped off 20-year-old Alex about his plan to cash in on their two-year relationship.

A friend close to the star revealed she is now terrified the tape-made when she was just 18-could end up on the internet.

We were alerted to West by close friends of Alex who asked us to investigate him.

Pals reported that he has been STALKING Alex on her incredible X Factor run-sending sinister texts .
... revealing he knows exactly where she is and even what she's wearing.

She has considered going to the police but doesn't want anything to distract her from winning X Factor.

Mentored by Cheryl Cole, she is now favourite to clinch the £1 million deal after her stunning performances in recent weeks led top judge Simon Cowell to back her for first place.

Alex's friend said: 'It's almost two years since Alex split with West and she has more than moved on-but he never has.

'Now she's on the brink of the big time he's bombarding her with text messages saying he loves her and wants her back.

'Last Thursday he sent her a text that spelled out he KNEW she was at the TV studios in London, adding, 'Nice brown jacket.' Alex was really spooked by that because he was obviously watching her. She WAS at the studios and she WAS wearing a brown jacket.

'Alex is already a worrier. Now she can hardly sleep with the stress. It seems West has somehow found out her schedule and tracks her movements. But most worrying is his plot to sell the sex tape.'

Dreadlocked West told us: 'I'm happy to wait. I'm only interested in receiving one big lump sum. Even if it's a year from now she'll get really big and I'll sell it then.'

Our source told us: 'West is very well connected.

'He's not in a gang but has lots of ties to people who are. He's been overheard threatening to have someone 'sorted out'.

'Outwardly he can be very sweet and charismatic, but he's not the kind of guy you want to mess with. He knows people with knives and guns.

'Alex is now so close to achieving her life's dream she doesn't need all this to deal with.

Internet Technology Threatened By Download Quotas

by Larry Dixon

Everyone knows that the Internet is growing at an enormous rate. New services are constantly being made available, more households are getting broad band Internet access, and everyone is becoming increasingly reliant on digital media. While this enormous growth in Internet services and access to the Internet provides enormous opportunities, there is one thing that could derail the entire process: the fact that there just isn't enough infrastructure in place to support the strains that are being put on the Internet. In other words, there is a threat that in the very near future the demand for Internet services will outstrip the ability of the Internet to transmit data!

Some Internet service providers are already trying to combat the problem by placing quotas on the amount of data that its subscribers can download within the space of a month. For example, Comcast has placed some unspecified limit on the amount of data that its subscribers can download. If a subscriber downloads excessively, that subscriber's service can be cut off. Of course, nothing in the company's literature (at least nothing that's easily accessible) states exactly what amount of downloading is considered excessive, but some subscribers have already lost their service because of this policy. Sprint also recently announced limits on the amount of data that can be transferred over the course of a month through its 3G mobile data service. This cap is five gigabytes per month, or three hundred megabytes when roaming. While this might not sound like much, Sprint reports that the vast majority (over 99 percent) of its mobile customers don't come close to downloading five gigs worth of data over the course of a month. If you're concerned about your Internet usage, there are some steps that you can take to avoid being cut off. The first step is obviously to determine if your Internet service provider has limits, and if so, what those limits are. If the Internet service provider's literature isn't specific about those limits, you may have to press them to be specific. The more subscribers that pressure an Internet service provider to make their policy available, the more likely the ISP is to be transparent.

If you discover that your Internet service provider does institute limits on the amount of data that you can download, you can take steps to limit your data transfer. The first thing to look at is video. Video consumes an enormous amount of bandwidth. This is especially true if you're downloading or streaming high def video! Opting for standard def video and picking and choosing what you download or stream will reduce the amount of data that is transferred over your Internet connection. Music and photos are the next biggest consumers of bandwidth. Streaming Internet radio might not be particularly data intensive, but it can really add up if you're listening to Internet radio stations for large portions of the day, day in and day out.

In addition to your conscious use of the Internet, you should also be aware of things that your computer may be doing without your knowledge. For example, software updates, virus definitions for your antivirus software, and the activity of malware can all contribute to your overall Internet use. Software updates are a good thing, but it might not hurt to set your computer to ask for your permission before downloading and installing them. That way you can be aware of how much of your download quota is being used for this process. You might also want to shut off your Internet connection when you aren't using it. This will minimize the chances of unauthorized data transfers due to malware and hackers.

Ericsson Debuts IMS IPTV Middleware in U.S.

Bob Wallace

LM Ericsson Telephone Co. (ERIC) today announced commercial availability of what it claims is the first “IMS-integrated middleware” for the U.S. market, several months after the package was first announced to the masses.

Ericsson claims the IPTV solution is aligned with the Open IPTV Forum specifications, and is the first solution in the world to be pre-integrated with IMS and also operates across traditional networks.

The Open IPTV Forum is charged with pulling together specs from a number of different groups that cover everything from the IPTV headend all the way down the ecosystem line to the set-top box in the home. The group notes, it does not create standards itself.

The middleware brings together Ericsson offerings such as IPTV network infrastructure, video processing solutions and VoD, and interoperates with products from Accedo Broadband, Agama Technologies, Amino, HP, SecureMedia, Sun Microsystems, Tilgin, Verimatrix, and ZyXEL.

While the list includes multiple established TV service suppliers, key IPTV providers Cisco Systems Inc. and Microsoft Corp. are conspicuous in their absence from the forum’s membership list. Members beyond those cited in the press materials include Motorola and Nokia Siemens Networks.

Further, other broader industry groups such as the Multiservice Forum are working to bring together IMS and IP services such as IPTV to ensure device and software interoperability to fuel eventual blended, converged services not found today.

The group recently held a 12-day Global Multiservice Interoperability (GMI) test event spanning three continents, five test labs, three carriers (Verizon, BT and China Mobile) and tested 22 vendor’s devices, with the focus being bringing IP services and their related devices into the IMS core.

Ericsson claims its package lets operators create, test and deploy personalized and interactive TV. That includes the combination of communication and entertainment spanning wireline and wireless services.

IMS extends the TV experience with integrated communication and delivers convergence enablers such as presence and messaging/chat. Combining these capabilities with Internet services creates additional opportunities for service creation and enhancement, according to the vendor.

IPTV Zone at IBC2009 Doubled in Size on Demand for IPTV

Following the success of last year’s show, the IPTV Zone at IBC2009 is being increased in size by 120% (from 1116m² to 2466m²). The expansion reflects the growth of the IPTV market which, according to recent research by Infonetics, is forecast to grow to reach 53 million subscribers by 2009 creating a $44 billion marketplace for equipment and services.

IBC IPTV ZoneNow in its third year, the IBC2009 IPTV Zone will bring together many of the organisations and technologies that are emerging as major forces in these new markets. It will therefore provide a unique opportunity for application developers, content providers and technology companies to showcase their capabilities at the heart of the broadcast industry's leading international conference and exhibition.

The IPTV Zone will be accompanied by the IBC2009 IPTV Zone Business Briefings to which attendance is free. These briefings will examine some of the issues and opportunities arising from this revolution in broadcast content delivery in further detail and are intended to reinforce and complement the established peer reviewed, paid-delegate IBC Conference.

Commenting on the development of The IPTV Zone at IBC2009, Mike Crimp, COO, IBC said: “We have seen a huge growth in the deployment of IPTV-based services over the last year and this growth is creating enormous opportunities for both content creators and broadcasters. We are delighted with the development of the IPTV Zone over the last 2 years and I am confident that it will again prove a major visitor attraction at this year’s convention.”

The IPTV Zone at IBC2009 is being jointly developed and marketed by IBC, IT Europa and BPL. The IBC2009 exhibition takes place from 11th - 15th September 2009 at the RAI, Amsterdam.
